Postdoctoral Research Associate
Mohammadreza Jalaeian (Reza), Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at ShadowBox LLC and MacroCognition LLC. He works on the design of learning systems that accelerate expertise in professional domains, specifically law enforcement. He also works with DARPA’s XAI program team to develop cognitive tutorials. Reza is an experienced researcher and educator with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and industry. He completed his Ph.D. in Learning Systems Design & Technology from Southern Illinois University. His dissertation focus was on Testing and Training Law Enforcement Officer’s Perceptual-Cognitive Skills. His research interest is in training cognitive skills, decision-making, organizational learning, and design of effective and efficient training programs that accelerate expertise.
Besides academia, he has experience consulting with business departments at the Federal Reserve Bank System to support, develop, and deliver learning solutions. He also has experience providing strategic support to clients and leaders in moderate situations, and experience in project management.
Reza enjoys hiking, camping, cooking on fire, and public speaking. He was one of the nine speakers at SIU TEDx where he spoke about Expertise and Artificial Intelligence. He plans to speak at national TED events.
